technical articles tutorials on networks, blogs, internet marketing & search engine optimisation

About

Technicalarticles.co.uk is a website that provides technical articles and tutorials on networks, blogs, internet marketing & search engine optimisation and maybe other things as time goes on, but I think this will be a good start.  I am a technical professional, a Chartered Engineer, who has been working in the Telecommunications industry for over 25 years and in that time I have seen the development of a lot of different technical innovations and technology which has shaped the world we live in.

The idea for this site started as a blog that I could write as I developed my knowledge about today’s trends and developments in the World Wide Web, together with a desire to share some of the technical notes on networks, I had made myself over the years as a series of tutorials for people to use freely.  I’ve found a lot of help on the internet from people who have shared their knowledge with everyone, and in a small way, I hope I can return this back through this website.

The other objective for this work is to look at how to make money from the internet through advertising and affiliate programs, namely, Internet Marketing, because I keep hearing about people earning colossal sums of money on the internet, and I have come to realise that more and more, this is the way the world is going.  People will be selling their services and products through this media, and for many people this will become their full-time job.  So, my aim is also to see how all this Internet Marketing stuff works and see if we can make some money out of it, and whatever I learn in the process, I’ll share with the readers of these articles and tutorials.

Although, I played around with HTML in the good old days when Netscape was the browser of choice, and programmed some websites using frames and display up to date information using Active Server Pages to access a back-end database, things have moved on a great deal.  For me, it’s like starting almost at the beginning, and I’m sorely in need of tutorials myself, so I’m going to write some of these tutorials myself as I go along to show you how to do it yourself, and teach you how to do the same.

It’s one thing having a web-site and another thing having people who know where it is and how to get to you.  Everyone uses search engines to find things, and almost 47% of all searches are done with Google.  So as part of this work, I’ll be looking at how to do this for this site, optimise it so that search engines (SEO), in particular Google, can find it easily and try to get it ranked somewhere high in their listings, a top 10 listing would be good.

One final thought, if there are articles or tutorials on these subjects that you have written and would like to see published on technicalarticles.co.uk then please use the ‘Contact’ page and get in touch, we would be pleased to hear from you.

That’s all from me.

Enjoy!
